Why ISO Rater exists
ISO Rater is built for agents, for one reason: agent protection. Too many agents spend years building a book with an ISO before they find out about short residuals, hidden splits-of-splits, or support that never answers. ISO Rater puts other agents' real experiences in front of you before you sign, not after.
Any agent can rate an ISO from 1 to 5 stars in each area below. Every rating counts as soon as it's posted. We average each area across all ratings, then combine those averages using the weights shown. Ratings from verified agents count 2× and ratings backed by a document count 3× in every average. Rank arrows compare today with 7 days ago.
Every rating is anonymous. Your name, email, and profile are never shown.
Ownership and independence
- Ownership is disclosed. ISO Rater is operated by Athena Paytech LLC, which also owns an ISO listed on this board.
- That ISO gets no special treatment. It's listed like any other ISO and scored with the same criteria, weights, and verification. Nobody at ISO Rater can edit a score.
- The scoring methodology is published. Every criterion and weight is listed below, along with the 2× and 3× rules for verified ratings.
- Your verification data stays private. Your profile link and any documents are used only to confirm you're an agent and verify ratings. They're never shared or used for outreach unless you opt in to hearing from ISOs.
- ISOs can respond, not buy placement. An ISO can claim its page and post one public response. Claiming or responding never changes a score.
The two badges, and why one is stronger
- Verified agent
- An admin checked the agent's LinkedIn or Facebook profile to confirm they work in merchant services. It proves the person is a real agent. All their ratings carry this badge and count 2×.
- Verified rating
- The agent backed this specific rating with a residual report or agreement from that ISO, and an admin approved it. It proves the agent actually works with the ISO they're rating, so it's the strongest signal on the site and counts 3×. Documents stay private: only admins see them, and only to verify the rating.
Scoring methodology
Each ISO's overall score is the weighted average of its scores in these areas. Verified-agent ratings count 2×, document-backed ratings 3×.
